✔ Feeling disconnected from yourself, your body, or your emotions
✔ Caught in patterns that don’t serve you— in relationships, at work, or in daily life
What is EMDR?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a scientifically backed therapy that helps the brain process distressing memories, emotions, and beliefs.
Your brain is designed to heal, just like your body. But when something overwhelming happens— whether it’s trauma, loss, or experiences that made you feel unsafe or unseen— the brain can get stuck, replaying those memories and emotions over and over again.
EMDR helps rewire how those memories are stored so they no longer carry the same emotional charge. Instead of reliving the past, you’ll be able to think about it with distance and clarity.
How EMDR Works
EMDR is more than just moving your eyes back and forth. It’s a structured process that allows you to heal safely and at your own pace.
-
We’ll start by exploring your history, identifying where you feel stuck, and building trust in the therapeutic process. I’ll listen closely to what’s weighing on you and help you set clear goals for healing.
-
Before we begin reprocessing memories, I’ll guide you through simple yet powerful techniques to help you calm your nervous system, feel grounded, and manage distress. These tools will be with you not just in therapy, but in everyday life.
-
When you’re ready, we’ll focus on a specific memory, belief, or feeling. You’ll engage in bilateral stimulation (eye movements, sound, or tapping) while allowing your brain to make sense of and reprocess the experience.
You don’t have to relive every detail or tell your entire story out loud— your brain does the healing work naturally.
-
As we continue the process, your mind will start to naturally shift its perspective. The memory won’t carry the same weight anymore. Instead of feeling trapped by the past, you’ll feel more at peace, confident, and able to move forward.
My Integrative Approach to EMDR
What makes my approach unique?
I take an eclectic, whole-person approach to EMDR, integrating different healing modalities to fit your individual needs.
-
Sometimes, different “parts” of us hold onto trauma or painful beliefs. IFS-informed EMDR helps us identify these parts and bring them into balance— so instead of feeling conflicted within yourself, you’ll feel more whole.
-
For some clients, EMDR combined with low-dose ketamine sessions can deepen processing, reduce emotional overwhelm, and unlock new perspectives. We’ll talk about whether this could be a supportive option for your healing.
-
EMDR is just as effective online as it is in person. I use a secure, user-friendly platform that allows you to experience bilateral stimulation through moving visuals, sound tones, or tactile devices.
Whether you’re at home, in the office, or traveling, EMDR therapy can meet you where you are.
Who Can Benefit from EMDR?
EMDR is effective for a wide range of experiences, including:
PTSD & Trauma (both childhood and recent)
Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias
Grief and loss
Relationship difficulties & attachment wounds
Stress and burnout
EMDR FAQs
-
Some clients notice a shift after just a few sessions, while others need more time. The number of sessions depends on your history, goals, and how your brain processes information.
-
Not necessarily. I tailor therapy to your needs, meaning some sessions may focus on EMDR while others focus on IFS, nervous system regulation, or other supportive techniques.
-
You don’t have to. EMDR works without requiring you to talk about or relive every detail of your past. Your brain does the work while you focus on sensations, thoughts, and emotions in the present moment.
-
I use a secure platform that allows you to engage in bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sound tones) from the comfort of your own space. This means you can heal virtually anywhere without losing the effectiveness of in-person sessions.
